Problems with popular chatbots like ChatGPT
Nowadays, there is little need to convince anyone of the usefulness of AI in everyday life. ChatGPT brought us a real breakthrough in acquiring and utilizing information.
However, there is one fundamental problem with popular chatbots – they have been trained on materials available on the internet, and thus contain:
- Information from blogs, social networks, YouTube videos, where content is not verified, often seeks sensation (because it gets more clicks), and frequently spreads harmful nonsense
- Content from sites selling supplements or health products – with a clear conflict of interest, as they must try to convince you of the effectiveness and necessity of purchasing a given product
- Sponsored articles, where instead of an objective evaluation we deal with something that serves the interest of a particular company
- Websites with pseudoscientific content, which appear to be credible but in fact are not based on any solid scientific data
- Content from influencers who “think” something, or even sincerely believe in something, but have nothing to back up their claims except their own belief
Popular AI chatbots are created to operate in every area. They lack specialization, an established methodology, and verified data.
